At University of Louisville Hospital and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, we nurture and support our nursing professionals as they become leaders dedicated to excellence.

The Nursing Professional Development Program, introduced in late 2010, was officially launched in January 2011. The program is available to direct care nurses and offers the opportunity to grow and develop professionally by participating in a variety of endeavors designed to promote both engagement and retention.

The Nursing Professional Development Program promotes recognition and reward for the development of clinical expertise in patient care within the Patient- and Family-Centered Care Model by affording our bedside nurses the opportunity for clinical advancement and acknowledgment without leaving the patient care setting.
