ULHC NURSING INNOVATION

The Nursing Research philosophy at University of Louisville Hospital and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center is:

As the key unit of a health care organization located within an academic health sciences center and affiliated with a research extensive university, we strive to become nationally and locally recognized for excellence in nursing research and evidence based nursing care.

We will accomplish this goal by encouraging the continual questioning of nursing practice and conducting quality improvement projects, by staying abreast of scientific advances and professional practice guidelines that form the foundation of evidence based nursing care, and by creating new knowledge through nursing and interdisciplinary research.

We will follow ethical guidelines that support the human rights of research participants.

We consider the dissemination of nursing knowledge to be our professional obligation.

We will accomplish these goals through collaboration with nurse scientist and interdisciplinary partners and by involving nurses in all levels of the organization.
